Bat Survey & Bat Licence Application, Berkshire

Bat Survey of Buildings

“Habitat survey and bat survey to accompany planning application. Work carried out promptly to meet planners’ timetable. Thorough yet flexible response to client's requirements. Courteous and supportive in explaining the procedures and implications for the project.” ”

Frances Morrow,

In 2011, Windrush Ecology Ltd. secured a bat licence for the demolition of a detached residence in West Berkshire. The project involved detailed surveys of the building for roosting bats and the subsequent preparation and submission of a bat licence application to Natural England. The licence included a mitigation strategy and new habitat creation proposals for brown long-eared and soprano pipistrelle bats that were roosting at the property.

Historic and listed buildings are a speciality of Windrush Ecology Ltd., particularly where there are issues and concerns regarding bats and other protected species. We have worked on a number of bat surveys in Berkshire, including sites in Reading, Upper Basildon, Newbury and Hampstead Norreys. We have held bat licences for a number of commonly encountered bat species, including common pipistrelle and brown long-eared bat.

Recent projects have included barn conversions and house extensions within The Chilterns and the North Wessex Downs Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
